Coquille Valley Crime Stoppers (CVCS) is a local organization comprised of concerned private citizens residing in the local communities surrounding Coquille and Myrtle Point, Oregon to include the North Bend/Coos Bay areas, Bandon and Powers. The organization was developed to assist law enforcement in solving existing and "cold" crimes which are or have been committed within our community. Two of the more prominent cases the CVCS has on the agenda are the Leah Freeman and Jeremy Bright cases. Leah Freeman was a 15 year old teenager from Coquille, Oregon who was murdered in June of 2000. Jeremy Bright was a 14 year old who was reported missing in July of 1986 from the County Fair in Myrtle Point, Oregon. Both cases remain unsolved and are detailed further in the unsolved cases section of this website. |
It is the mission of the Coquille Valley Crime Stoppers to help local law enforcement solve crimes by raising funds for rewards and publishing information about crimes in the local media. This organization is a not for profit group of private citizens dedicated to making the Coquille Valley and surrounding areas a safer place to live and enjoy our God given rights to freedom.
This organization is open to those individuals and businesses who reside or operate a business within the local community and have an interest in the goals of the organization. The local community is loosely defined as the areas south and east of North Bend to include North Bend, Coos Bay, Charleston, Bandon, Coquille, Myrtle Point and Powers. There are no costs associated with becoming a member of the organization.
The membership process consists of notifying a board member of your desire to join. This can be done either orally or in writing, email applications are also accepted. The board will meet and approve all membership applications, unless there is cause for disapproval, at the next regularly scheduled meeting.
Businesses who join the organization are asked to designate one representative to attend organizational meetings.
All monetary donations to the Coquille Valley Crime Stoppers are tax deductible. Please contact CVCS Secretary via email to coordinated a contribution.
All those who make a donation will receive a receipt by mail for tax purposes.
